Traffic By Leaving Comments
I have noticed that when I focus on writing content for my blog, that is all i end up with. What good is the content if there are no visitors to read them and comment on them. Isn’t that why we started a blog for anyways?
I have also seen a sharp drop in visits to my blog when I stop visiting and commenting on other peoples blogs. So I have decided that I need to do two very important things in order to make my own blog effective and social.
- Provide Valuable Content
If I don’t provide valuable content on my blog that people can use or that stimulates an emotion, there will be no reason for people to leave comments about my posts. You want people not only to read your blog posts but you want them to comment on them.
Ask questions or write something that causes controversy so that people will be inclined to respond. Also you want to keep the comments going on for as long as possible so it is a good idea to always respond to comments on your own blog so that people will know you are engaged with your readers. Once they see you engaged they will be more likely to return.
- Comment On Other Peoples Blogs
You absolutely need to go over to other blogs and forums to read and leave comments. If you do not leave comments, you won’t get the traffic near as fast. The kinds of comments that have the best results for me are the ones where you complement the writer and also offer something of value.
I am into graphic design so I have been offering my services to others who could use them. I didn’t just go and advertise all over other peoples blogs. You must actually read their post and really think about what your comment will contain. I have seen countless blogs asking for a link back to their site.
Nothing is more frustrating than to see people abuse the blogging platform for this purpose. You can kill two birds with one stone if you really try to leave value on other people’s blogs and write killer content on your own as well. Asking questions and writing controversial posts are effective in getting people to comment so try these tactics.
What techniques have worked for you? If you know of anything else that have had great results I would appreciate any and all comments. Blogging takes time but the amount of information you acquire over time will be of great value to future viewers of your blog. Until next time…

Great post Michael, I usually just comment on what the person wrote about by trying to add something thats relevant, that I think they might have missed. This sometimes gives other people a nudge to start up a topic about the post.
As in your recent post, I think its fine to build links to your blog by leaving comments but, how many comments are you supposed to leave on other blogs? I’m not quite sure myself.

Hi Michael, this is my first visit to your site, I am slowly working my way through all of Alex’s students. It is taking time, but as you say in your article it is extremely important to make this contact with others.
I find it interesting reading about what others are struggling with and also how they managed to overcome the problem. At some time you are bound to come across your particular problem. I think the camaraderie among the students is astounding, you only have to pose a question and somebody will answer you.
There is no need to struggle along on your own, thats just a waste of ,and time is something we are all fighting against, in order to get through all the tasks we have set ourselves.
I really would appreciate your visiting my site to see the post concerning a poll about Alex. Many thanks in anticipation.

Hey Rich and Paull, thanks for the comments. Rich, you must leave as many comments as it takes to get yourself all over the community. If nobody knows who you are then why would they want to visit your site?
I’m sure there is something you know that can help others or at least stir up a conversation. If you just go to blogs and yell, “Hey, come follow me.” then nobody will follow.
When you post real comments and engage the community then more likely people will see you for you and want to know more about what you do. That’s when they click over to your site.
As for how many comments should you leave is up to you. I’ve noticed the ones leaving the most comments get the most traffic. Go figure.
Paull, thanks for the great comments. Just another perfect example of leaving quality comments on blogs for Rich to learn from. I liked your videos and the blog is fantastic. Great job!
I’ve gone and voted for Alex and “Yeah!” I’m very satisfied with the amount of knowledge and sacrifice this “Giving Guru” has given us. For anyone that has not taken Alex up on his coaching program is really missing out.
I’ll be sure to check your blogs out more for more great posts. Thanks guys!
