How To Get Traffic For Free And Fast

Hey I decided to make a video to show how in the world I figured out how to get traffic for free and fast to your website or blog without paying anything.

To save time I signed up to Youtube and created my account. I included everything necessary to upload videos and even created my own channel.

Then I downloaded a free 30 day trial of Camtasia Studio 6 to make my free videos with. I made my first video and uploaded it to Youtube and watched the results.

The next thing I did was sign up to EzineArticles.com as an author. I put as much information as possible and began to write my article. I made sure that my article was not on any other websites and unique to only EzineArticles. It takes a few days after submitting articles for them to be approved.

Well if you are curious as to the results of these two traffic tactics, I suggest you scroll down and take a look at the video below to see exactly what happened. You may be surprised. This is only the second video I’ve ever made myself so please be patient with my abilities and “yes” this was made free also because my Camtasia trial has not expired yet!

I encourage questions and comments as this was only a couple of tactics I learned by Alex Jeffreys and Maria Andros who are two fantastic people who have helped me to succeed online.  If you have more tactics about how to get traffic for free and fast that you would like to share, please let me know.  Until next time…

  1. Cool video. Only problem with Youtube is that it’s inaccessible for large parts of the day from large parts of the world. The download times are just excruciating.

Camtasia tip – try moving away from the disturbing base sound of this recording. Don’t know if it’s your computer or what is making the sound, but it’s somewhat disturbing.

Let me know when you are ready to order Camtasia Studio and I will give you a sweet deal ;-)

    Best,
    Peter

  2. Hi Michael,
I used this method myself during the video contest without realizing the impact it would have on my YouTube views. My ezine article did increase my views significantly and my blog traffic increased somewhat, but I put that down to the fact that my video was a little tongue-in-cheek & didn’t generate huge traffic to my blog.

If I did something a little more serious, I’d probably see better results. However, what is the cost of Camtasia after the 30 day expiry?

I have the improved version of Camstudio (Internet Marketers version) which apparently is all you need to make a video like yours. It seems to generally cost $29.95 when I googled it, but I have resell rights to sell it for $9.97. I don’t even know how to get the sales page out there! I’m just too technically challenged.

I’m currently overwhelmed by all the things I need to learn before I can use, but I’ll have to update my “plan” to include regular tutorial sessions. The first one needs to be aWeber!

    Cheers,
    Gaielle

  3. Hi Michael,

Thanks for the really useful traffic generation tips using ‘keywords’ in the title and description of video listings and articles.

I haven’t been making full use of this to optimise my page ranking until now – but I will from now onwards.

Sharing the knowledge – I’ve been having some success with using Twitter to build up a list of followers and getting traffic by sending useful and relevant tweets.

If you’re not using it yet, I highly recommend you do. I’ve a FREE ebook that explains how to get started using Twitter, which is available from my blog later today at the end of my post about the benefits of using Twitter.

Another great way to generate traffic is from submitting ‘press releases’. I’ve a post on my blog all about the best ways to create them. That’s a great way to generate loads of FREE publicity and also create instant credibility with your prospective customers. It’s called the ‘halo effect’ – when people see something in print they generally believe the source, i.e. the newspaper, radio, or TV.

I’ve also written an article for a biz opps magazine with 20,000 circulation, which is just about to be published. I’m documenting the success rate from it on my blog.

    To your continued success,

    Dave

P.S. I’ve added you to my blogroll and would appreciate being added to yours. You can also follow me on Twitter http://twitter.com/davepumfrey

  4. Hi Michael,

Forgot to add that as a member of the F500, I would appreciate your offer of doing me some free graphics, as your comment on Garry Parkes blog.

Send me an email with what I need to supply you.

    Many Thanks,

    Dave

  5. Hey to Peter, yeah that background buzz noise is irritating to say the least so I must check that out before I continue creating videos. Thanks for the offer too. I found out that my headset although new may be the problem.

Hey to Gaielle, I also have the Internet Marketers Version of Camstudio and I tried using it after getting the buzz background effect mentioned above. My audio had the same irritating noise so I know for sure it’s my computer or the headset.

The Camtasia is absolutely awesome because of the extended features and unfortunately is $300 after the trial. I did find out however that you can purchase through one of their resellers which you can find at their website.

The cheapest I found was $167 but you need to be a teacher or a student. I have a friend that is a teacher who is going to get it for me and I’ll be paying her back. Also I noticed that almost every reseller has an affiliate program through Commission Junction so I am going to have my teacher friend go through an affiliate link I created so not only do I get a discount, but I get a commission as well.

After I get the link I may post it up here so others may get Camtasia at a better price too. And by the way, I need to learn Aweber a lot better as well. I noticed they have a new feature that lets you know what you need to complete in order to have the most effect with your opt in forms.

Hey to Dave, thanks for the tips as well. I have almost 100 followers on my twitter page. Mine is http://www.twitter.com/michaelottman. If you notice, I did my own background graphic to brand myself and make the page unique.

I love the press release method as I have never tried that before. Great tip my friend! I’ll stay updated as to how your article does with the biz opts magazine. I hope it converts well for you as I know those cannot be cheap to advertise.

I’ll also add you to my student section if you aren’t already there. Also I will definitely do some graphics for you. Just let me know what you want whether it’s a twitter background, an ebook cover, report cover or whatever. If you already have an existing photo that I can work with, it will make it easier for me.

If you need something from scratch, I’ll need you to be very descriptive with what you want and need, color choice, text, and such. I’ll be emailing you with my email address so you can send me the info.

If you have any photos to send just zip them up in a file on your computer and attach it with the email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  6. Hi Michael,

It’s good to share the traffic generation tips with each other and help each other along our path to financial freedom. We’ve all made the decision to better our lives, so by helping each other it’s a WIN-WIN situation.

Thanks for the offer of doing me some graphics. I wondered if I could ask you to re-brand all the images Alex supplied us with for the ‘List Building with Alex’ package with ‘Dave Pumfrey Presents’ – just like you’ve done.

That’s a VERY clever way to increase your positioning with Alex straight away.

Have you got the cool looking confirmation page and e-book image (example of ebook image is on the front page of my blog) that Alex mentioned in one of the Modules – if not, send me an e-mail (us the one I’m added for posting these comments) and I’ll send it to you. Can you also re-brand that ebook image for me?

That image is available in the members area.

    Have you sold any PPP’s?

I have and in doing so came to realise there is potentially a problem after payment via PayPal. There’s a post on my blog explaining how to change the text on the orange PayPal button to make it clear people MUST click on there to get access to the videos. Very important, as I the requirement to click the link isn’t clear at the moment and customers are paying, but then not getting access to the videos. That was my experience – until I found out how to resolve it. It’s very easy – once you know how.

Would you also mind creating me a header and footer graphic for me?

I’ve noticed that your blog looks great in Internet Explorer, but totally different and not very well displayed in Firefox – just lots of lines of text – difficult to read and distinguish between posts. You will probably need to change something around to resolve it.

    To your success,

    Dave

  7. Hey Dave, thanks for the post. I’ll work on those images for you soon. As for a header and footer, are you wanting them for your blog? If I do a new header graphic, your text will be in front of it or you will need to delete that text and I could put it on the graphic.

Just asking for a header and footer is not enough. I really need some input as to what you would want or give me an example of someone elses site. I want to give you something you’ll like, not just something good.

Thanks for the info about my site not looking right in Firefox. All fixed now thanks to you. It’s funny how one extra character can alter the entire look of a site. It took me 10 min to track the problem.

If you have any pictures that you want included with the header I create just let me know or I’ll just do something I like. Also I’ll check out the video issue with my Profit Pulling Platform to see if I have the same issues.

    Talk at you later.

  8. That’s because there are only 120,000 competitors for that keyword genious.

    Learn something that actually works.

I’m sorry for being so rude but DUDE you guys are such newbies and you think alex is teaching you a big deal.

    It’s just mind blowing.

Sorry about the blast but I need to open your eyes.

here’s the link for you all – http://ultiimatemoneymakers.com/CashRockets-vds/1.html

  9. Hello Michael,

John Patterson a student of Alex Jeffreys and trying to catch up.

Your research and videos are very impressive, I will try to implement your tips on my blog. This is the sort of advice that will help me to pick upspeed and get more visitors to my site.

I would really appreciate you adding me to your blog roll.Would you kindly give my blog a visit and I will add you to my blogroll.

Can I recommend looking at a programme that launches Tuesday. It will absolutely BLOW you away. It’s like Alex on with Rocket fuel. You really need to see this, it has everything for all levels in Internet marketing, works for you on autopilot and pays you as well. The technology is cutting edge. Take a sneak peek

    Wishing you great success

  10. Hey Ultimate Money Makers. I debated whether or not to let your comment on my blog because of how rude you are but in the end decided I would let readers decide for themselves.

Not only are you rude but you absolutely have no idea how to create an informative entertaining video. You can barely understand your voice and spend an eternity trying to get your point across.

I don’t doubt there are better ways to get traffic, I just post the ones I know and are learning. If you have not figured it out, I am a newbie but yet my blog is more unique, set up and professional looking than yours. That’s my opinion anyway.

Even if I was competing with 120,000 other sites, that still is amazing to get first page ranking in that short of time. If you are really having that much success, then post how much you have made with your “better” way. I’m sure we all look forward to your answer.

In the time you take going through your video, I already am on my way to number one with my next YouTube video and Ezine Articles article. Plus I just finished watching Dave Guindon use a free Google tool that does exactly what you just did and I plan on doing a video for this as well.

In the future you may try helping others instead of cutting them down. I’m pretty sure you will have better success.

  11. Hi John, better late than never. You already are in my student section that is on the top of this blog under Alex’s Student List. You are in the second set of students about half way down the list.

I looked at your blog and it’s good. I went ahead and let your post with your reommedation stay but would like you to know that Alex has warned against leaving affiliate links on your posts.

You will have better success if you provide valuable information on other peoples blogs and let them link back to you before giving them a recommendation. Remember you are trying to get a following of your own, not just make money first.

You have to give, give, and give some more before you receive. That’s my plan anyway and it has been proven to work. That’s why I’m giving free graphics to people right now. It will bring me customers later.

Again, good job on your blog.

  12. Hey Mike,

Like I said I was extremely irritated at the time I shot that comment, I apologize for nuking it on you. My point was not the one of shutting you down but try to get you more aware rather, since what you were doing was the kind of thing that wouldnt get you the results you wanted.

Anyways, I’m sorry for that and I would be trilled to jump on the phone wit you sometime and record something for your readers here.

Email me your Skype and I’ll add you up.

    Talk later,
    TheRazor

  13. Hey Razor,

Obviously since this post is way late after your last comment, I didn’t need your help or your interview. I’ve quit my job since this last post and am making a full time online by giving graphics services to others.

I don’t bash your methods or your way of marketing but “still” do not agree that your comments and the way you introduced yourself on here will go down very well with people. Your video is still irritating to watch let alone boring. I’m just trying to show others what’s worked for me at the time of the video.

If you see a kindergardener show you that they know their ABC’s do you tell them “So what, I know it better and I can say it faster?” No, you tell them that they have done a good job and then encourage them to do it better. That’s all I’m trying to tell you as you were very rude in your comments.

Nobody likes a bully and will remember to avoid you. That’s no way to do business.

    Michael Ottman
